Stability AI raises $76M from Sony and EA, targeting licensed AI models

Stability AI secured $76 million in a Series B funding round. The investor consortium includes Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Electronic Arts.

This capital injection follows strategic alliances formed in late 2025 with UMG, WMG, and EA. Those partnerships aim to co-develop generative AI tools using proprietary intellectual property.

Stability AI will use the funds to expand its creative production suite and research operations. The move reinforces an industry shift toward building AI models trained on licensed, commercially safe data.
