Walmart appointed 25-year veteran Kyle Kinnard as U.S. chief operating officer. Kinnard transitions to the role from his previous position as COO of Walmart International.
He succeeds Kiernan Shanahan as part of a management reorganization under CEO John Furner. Shanahan will remain with the company in an advisory capacity until January 31, 2027.
The appointment follows multiple high-level executive changes at Walmart U.S. and Sam’s Club this year. These leadership shifts support a strategic focus on technology, marketplace growth, and delivery services.
