Americold Realty Trust (NYSE: COLD) opened a new import-export cold storage hub at Port Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada. The company developed the facility through a strategic collaboration with global port operator DP World and the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) railway.
This project is the first globally to integrate major cold storage, maritime logistics, and a Class I rail network at a single site. The direct connection to the port eliminates drayage, which is the short-haul trucking of goods between warehouses and docks. This integration reduces costs and transit times for temperature-sensitive products moving between Canada and international markets.
The hub provides approximately 22,000 pallet positions to support one of North America’s fastest-growing trade gateways. The facility connects customers to global markets across Europe, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region.
