A federal jury in Seattle cleared Boeing of liability in a lawsuit brought by LOT Polish Airlines.

The carrier sought $250 million in damages for lost revenue. LOT alleged fraud and misrepresentation regarding the 737 MAX aircraft.

Regulators grounded the fleet globally for 20 months. Two fatal crashes preceded the grounding. These accidents killed 346 people.

This case marks the first time an airline went to trial against Boeing over the grounding. LOT argued that Boeing omitted critical information about the flawed MCAS flight-stabilizing system.

The airline claimed these omissions caused significant financial damage through canceled flights and fleet disruptions. The verdict provides a major legal victory for Boeing and may set a precedent for future carrier claims.
