The UAE’s Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement awarded Brazilian aerospace firm Embraer a contract for up to 20 C-390 Millennium transport aircraft.
The agreement includes 10 firm orders for the UAE Air Force and Air Defence.
The contract provides 10 additional purchase options for the UAE.
This deal marks the first selection of the multi-mission C-390 in the Middle East, representing a strategic win in the region.
The parties signed the agreement at the 'Make it in the Emirates' forum to boost operational airlift capabilities.
The aircraft will support military, humanitarian, and interoperability missions.
The UAE joins existing C-390 customers including Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, and the Netherlands.
Other international clients for the aircraft include Austria, the Czech Republic, and South Korea.
The parties did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
