Air Liquide launched its first industrial-scale carbon capture pilot unit at Holcim's CaptureLab facility. The unit specifically targets emissions within the cement sector.

The facility utilizes proprietary Cryocap™ FG technology to pre-treat flue gas and remove impurities. This process pre-concentrates CO2 before final purification.

The project represents a milestone in scaling decarbonization solutions for heavy industries. Cement production generates high emissions from the chemical breakdown of limestone, making it difficult to decarbonize through energy efficiency alone.

This pilot aims to validate the technology's reliability for broader deployment across the cement and lime industries. Air Liquide leverages a decade of experience with Cryocap™ technology in other industrial sectors to support the launch.
