Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners announced on August 23, 2026, that Stage 2 of its Supernode project is now commercially operational. Located in Brisbane, Supernode is Australia’s largest battery energy storage system (BESS) campus.
Stage 3 of the development secured A$469 million in debt financing. Total investment across the first three stages now reaches approximately A$1.2 billion.
The project will deliver a combined capacity of 780MW and 3,074MWh. Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) serves as the core technology supplier for the project.
CATL is providing its advanced TENER S energy storage systems for the newest stage. The development supports Queensland’s accelerating transition to renewable energy.
