The Federal Reserve will release annual bank stress test results today, June 24, 2026. The announcement is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. EDT following the market close.

The tests evaluate 32 of the largest U.S. banks, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Goldman Sachs. These assessments determine if lenders can maintain sufficient capital during a hypothetical severe global recession.

This year’s scenario models a sharp rise in unemployment. It also simulates significant stress in both commercial and residential real estate markets.

Results typically dictate the stress capital buffer for each institution. This metric directly impacts a bank's ability to approve dividends and share buyback programs.

The Fed announced that 2026 results will not immediately alter capital requirements. Current requirements will remain unchanged until 2027 pending a broader regulatory review.
