Elementl Power is developing a nuclear power plant in Southeast Ohio. The facility will provide up to 1.5 gigawatts of capacity. Elementl signed an Early Works Agreement with GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy to utilize BWRX-300 small modular reactors.
The development occupies a site in Meigs County to support data centers and electrification. Construction on the first unit is projected to begin in 2030. The company anticipates project completion by 2034.
The project remains subject to a final investment decision and regulatory approvals. Oversight includes the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Ohio Power Siting Board. This initiative supports grid stability through new firm power generation.
