Tesla operationalized its first Optimus humanoid robot production line at the Fremont factory. CEO Elon Musk shared a photo of the facility on X to confirm active manufacturing activities.

This milestone marks the transition of the Optimus project from the prototype stage to mass production. Lars Moravy, Tesla’s VP of Vehicle Engineering, confirmed the physical infrastructure is now in place.

Tesla plans to deploy thousands of Optimus units within its own factories before starting a commercial rollout. The company is integrating AI and robotics into every layer of its business, including the factory floor.

This development supports Tesla’s long-term evolution from an automaker into a broader AI and robotics firm.
