BYD has launched the Xuanji A3, its first self-developed 4-nanometer autonomous driving chip. The processor is already in mass production and supports Level 3 and Level 4 driving functions. This development grants BYD full-chain control over assisted-driving technology, from hardware design to software algorithms.

Chairman Wang Chuanfu identified high-performance chips as the core of the industry's intelligentisation phase. To support this shift, BYD will invest over 100 billion yuan ($14.7 billion) into intelligent technology research. A three-chip cluster of the Xuanji A3 delivers over 2,100 TOPS of computing power to compete with rival in-house developers.
