BYD is recalling 183,211 vehicles in China following an announcement by the State Administration for Market Regulation. The action affects Tang and Qin series models manufactured between 2014 and 2022.
A manufacturing defect in the brake pedal stopper pad can cause the component to crack or detach after prolonged use. This flaw may keep brake lights illuminated even when the driver is not pressing the pedal, creating a hazard for other motorists.
The recall includes various Tang electric and hybrid SUVs as well as Qin sedans. Authorized dealers will replace the defective stopper pads free of charge to eliminate the safety risk.
