Toyota Motor Corporation will establish a dedicated production line at its Taiwan joint venture, Kuozui Motors’ Taoyuan plant. The facility will manufacture Noah and Voxy minivans for export to Japan.

The dedicated line will build up to 100,000 units annually. Production is scheduled to begin in October 2026.

This shift marks a rare move by the automaker to build mainstay domestic models overseas. The strategy aims to alleviate severe Japanese labor shortages and protect market share.

Delivery wait times in Japan currently exceed one year.

Toyota’s stock (7203.T) closed at ¥3,006.00 in Tokyo trading following the news. The share price increased by 0.94%.
