Toyota will begin selling Taiwan-manufactured Noah and Voxy minivans in Japan starting October 2026.
Nikkei reported the move on May 21, 2026, to resolve severe domestic production backlogs and supply constraints.
The automaker recently reported a 2% annual decline in domestic sales due to these bottlenecks.
Toyota shares in Tokyo rose more than 2% on Thursday following the announcement.
The Nikkei 225 index surged 3.3% during a broader market rally.
