AbbVie reported positive topline results from its Phase 3 LUNA study evaluating atogepant for the preventive treatment of menstrual migraine in adults. The trial met its primary endpoint and all eight ranked secondary endpoints. Results showed a statistically significant reduction in mean monthly migraine days compared to a placebo.
No approved treatment options currently exist specifically for menstrual migraine. These results strengthen AbbVie's position in the migraine market and support its broader neuroscience pipeline. The company continues to expand its oncology and immunology portfolios while resetting expectations for its neuroscience division.
