The Netherlands joined the US-led Pax Silica initiative on Tuesday to coordinate and secure global artificial intelligence supply chains. This alliance includes South Korea and Japan, while Taiwan endorses the group as a non-signatory.
The entry of the Netherlands incorporates ASML, the world's primary manufacturer of advanced computer chip equipment. This move proceeds despite ongoing disputes between the U.S. and the Netherlands regarding export controls on ASML sales to China.
Launched in December 2025, Pax Silica aims to build resilient supply chains for semiconductors and AI infrastructure. The initiative covers the entire production cycle from critical minerals to final manufacturing among trusted partners.
