BYD reported a second-quarter net profit of 8.2 billion yuan ($1.2 billion). This 30% year-over-year increase beat analyst estimates. The result marks the company’s first quarterly profit growth after four consecutive declines. Quarterly revenue fell 3.2% to 194.6 billion yuan.

Exports surged nearly 80% in the first half of 2026. Strong overseas performance helped offset intense competition and domestic market weakness in China.

Overall results for the first half of 2026 declined despite the second-quarter rebound. First-half net profit fell 20.5% and revenue dropped 7.1% year-over-year. A significant first-quarter decline offset the gains made in the second quarter.
