BYD launched its new Heyuan integrated hybrid platform, which enters series production with the 2026 Denza D9. The architecture relocates the exhaust system to the front of the vehicle. This design change allows for larger battery packs and a reconfigured chassis structure.
Executive Vice President Stella Li told CNN that BYD is prioritizing global markets to counter shrinking domestic profits. The company targets 1.5 million overseas vehicle sales by 2026. BYD also plans to build 6,000 proprietary flash charging stations abroad within 12 months.
These developments follow the company’s first annual profit decline in four years. BYD remains locked out of the U.S. market but seeks a competitive edge through international infrastructure and technology.
