BYD signed an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Malaysian bus builder Bus Cap Berhad. The partners will develop a new energy commercial vehicle platform.
The collaboration will first establish a localized assembly and manufacturing facility in Perak, Malaysia. This plant will focus on electric buses.
The partnership covers product localization, sales, marketing, distribution, and after-sales services. This initiative supports Malaysia’s transition toward electric public transport.
The agreement provides Bus Cap an industrial path into the electric vehicle sector using BYD’s technology. Future cooperation may expand to include electric trucks and vans.
