BYD is deploying a private fleet of eight cargo ships to bypass global shipping bottlenecks and geopolitical tensions. This logistics strategy allows the automaker to avoid volatile freight rates that soared following the pandemic. The fleet converts systemic geopolitical risks into operational certainty for the company's supply chain.

Chairman Wang Chuanfu committed to fully operating the fleet within two years. The vessels provide an annual transport capacity of approximately 300,000 vehicles. This infrastructure supports BYD’s goal for international markets to account for 50% of its total sales.

The fleet has already secured timely deliveries to Mexico, saving the company millions in potential costs. These operations ensure the stability of expanding exports and help BYD avoid tariff impacts.
