BYD secured a contract from Abu Dhabi renewable energy developer Masdar for a large-scale battery storage system.
The agreement supports a round-the-clock (RTC) energy project located in Abu Dhabi.
BYD will supply 11.275 GWh of its proprietary Haohan battery system.
The deal expands the company's global energy storage footprint beyond the electric vehicle sector.
