BYD matches Tesla’s EU market share, fueled by 168% registration surge

BYD’s European Union registrations surged 168.2% during the first half of 2026. The company reached 130,743 units according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).

BYD’s market share rose to 2.4%, matching Tesla’s share for the first time. Total EU battery-electric vehicle registrations increased 40.5% year-over-year in the first half.

This performance highlights BYD’s expansion strategy amid rising demand for new energy vehicles.
