GSK announced a three-year restructuring plan to save £1.9 billion ($2.5 billion) annually by 2029. The initiative simplifies the organization to reallocate funds toward its late-stage drug pipeline. This strategy addresses the upcoming patent expiration for its blockbuster HIV drug, dolutegravir.

The company will reinvest savings to launch more than 20 Phase 3 trials in 2026. This target doubles the previous goal for late-stage development. GSK also plans to relocate its UK research and development headquarters to a new site in Cambridge.

The news followed second-quarter profits that beat analyst expectations. GSK shares rose as the market responded to the restructuring and earnings performance.
