Infineon Technologies AG officially opened its Smart Power Fab in Dresden, Germany. The facility launched several months ahead of its original schedule.
This €5 billion project marks the largest investment in the company’s history. The site is the world’s largest factory for intelligent power semiconductors and analog/mixed-signal technologies.
The expansion doubles Infineon’s manufacturing capacity in Dresden. The new facility will create 1,000 jobs.
Production focuses on chips for AI data centers, renewable energy, and electric vehicles. The European Chips Act provided approximately €1 billion in public funding. This project strengthens European semiconductor sovereignty.
