Intel confirmed at Computex that its next-generation Xeon 7 server processors, codenamed Diamond Rapids, will launch in 2027. This timeline positions the chips as a major upgrade over the current Xeon 6 generation. The scheduled release potentially grants rival AMD an extended head start with its own next-generation offerings.

The new P-core-based CPUs will use Intel’s 18A-P process node. These processors feature a 50% increase in core counts. The architecture will double current memory bandwidth.

The Xeon 7 platform supports the new PCIe 6.0 standard. Intel canceled an 8-channel memory version to focus exclusively on a more powerful 16-channel design.
