The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approved a $275 million annual distribution revenue increase for PPL Electric Utilities. This settlement represents the company’s first base rate hike since 2016.

The new rates will take effect on July 1, 2026. A mandatory two-year rate freeze will follow the implementation of the new pricing.

Typical residential monthly bills will increase by approximately 4.9%. The average residential customer will pay an additional $7.42 per month.

The agreement establishes a new tariff for large-scale energy users like data centers. These industrial consumers must commit to 10-year service contracts. Large-scale users will also contribute $11 million annually to low-income assistance programs.

PPL will use the revenue to fund ongoing grid reliability and safety investments.
