Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Becca Balint led Democratic lawmakers in requesting a Department of Justice antitrust investigation. The probe targets Fox Corporation’s proposed $22 billion acquisition of Roku.

Lawmakers warned the merger could reduce consumer choice and increase costs. The combined entity could prioritize its own content across a platform serving 100 million households.

The deal unites Fox’s Tubi and The Roku Channel, two of the largest free streaming services. This consolidation may diminish competition in the ad-supported streaming market.
