Leidos won a $617 million U.S. Army contract for the Indirect Fire Protection Capability (IFPC) Increment 2 system. The agreement funds the production of more than 100 launchers.

This award increases the total IFPC system value to nearly $1.2 billion. The contract includes research and testing provisions through 2029.

The system counters cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It features a modular design for integration with existing Army command-and-control networks.

The IFPC will initially use the AIM-9X Sidewinder as its primary interceptor. Modernization of air defense remains a significant revenue driver for the aerospace and defense sector.
