Nestle, the world's largest packaged food company, reported first-quarter organic sales growth of 3.5%.
This figure surpassed analyst expectations of a 2.4% increase for the period ending in March. Robust demand for coffee and pet food products drove the performance.
Real internal growth, a measure of sales volume, rose 1.2%. This volume growth significantly beat forecasts of a 0.1% increase. The results indicate performance was not solely reliant on price increases. Sales remained particularly strong in the coffee and food & snacks categories.
Nestle maintained its full-year guidance for 2026. The company forecasts organic sales growth between 3% and 4%. The company also expects an improvement in its underlying trading operating profit margin.
